Events that have multiple Audio Sources such as Music Stages Fairground Rides Market Stalls, Bars and Restaurants can present a confusing and even irritating aural experience to the Public where sound sources overlap. It is possible, and Team Audio have experience in designing networks that Zone the Site linking all PA Systems together so as they can play music from a central control room. Bars Stalls and food outlets within the vicinity of a live music stage broadcast that live audio during the performances so as not to confuse the sound environment. The linking of all audio sources provides a vital safety and crowd control feature to and Event as it allows Audio to be faded out and Site Wide emergency announcements to be made. The most extensive use of this technology is at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park where Team Audio have been involved and developed the integrated system as the event grew.
Communication between Departments, Show Producers, Directors, and Technicians is often key to the success of a project or production and multiple channel systems are a way to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. A Matrix system can link all methods of communication: 2 wire partyline comms with Walkie Talkies, wireless duplex systems IEMS, personal radio mics and other audio feeds from a productions’ FOH mixing desk or Monitor desk. Team Audio have experience designing systems with their Reidel Matrix connecting the varied aspects of all types of events together. These Comms system can run alongside and on the same network that distributes IT and connects CCTV Lighting and Video if planned correctly and Team Audio can provide this service. Team Audios’ understanding of the benefits that good quality, integrated and site wide communication can bring to an event is born from their decade of work as Production and Technical Managers Indoors and Outside using all types of communication equipment.
Team Audio are experienced in managing RF they can co-ordinate and allocate the frequencies for the required numbers of Radio Mics, Comms and IEMs to provide the most robust system for a conference, musical or broadcast event. They research and scan for which frequencies are available in the geographical location and will calculate the best intermodulation free set of frequencies. They can also license those frequencies with the appropriate authority. Team Audio has a good understanding of speaker system design installing PA’s that are suitable and provide sufficient coverage of the space. However the creation of Sound Atmospheres, spot and background effects is also an area that we have experience in. Team Audio has designed themed atmospheres for several walkthrough and bar areas at Parties for corporate clients and other events. Most recently the Magical Ice Kingdom at Winter Wonderland Hyde Park and HP Discover a Steam punk themed party for Hewlet Packards annual conference. Team Audio has two Q lab systems on Mac mini computers with External Sound cards with 16 outputs. 1 system is dual redundant where audio runs in sync from 2 computers and can be switched without interruption. These, in conjunction with Soundweb programming, speaker installation, lighting and set design have provided some exciting and immersive sound experiences
Many Events have trouble with noise either by annoying nearby residents or having too many noise sources on site that overlap and compete with each other creating an unpleasant environment for guests and festivalgoers. Team Audio has experience in advising Promoters and administering noise controls that improve the audio impact, ensuring that Events can work within the limits set by the licensing authority whilst onsite the attendees are not disappointed. The process involves Pre event offsite noise measurements being taken; Then with this information noise sources can be orientated to cause least impact to the surroundings plus PA Systems can be selected and rigged to expressly reduce, the overall noise levels and the spill of sound outside the desired audience area. Team Audio can also provide dB level meters for the duration of the event that have a large LED display and when inserted in-line with the PA will limit its output to the pre-set level. Some notable examples where Team Audio have been involved are Big Chill 2007 – 2009, Greenbelt Festival 2010 – 2011 Nova Festival 2012, Winter Wonderland Hyde Park 2014 to 2016 and Secret Cinema 2016.
